Happy 2012 and Changes

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!! I also hope that 2012 has been great so far (I can't believe it is already February)!! I have been putting off this post for as long as possible but the time has finally come and I am making myself write it. Over the last three and a half years that I have been in business I have met the most amazing people. I have learned so much and been able to grow as a photographer and as a person. It is after a lot of thought that I have decided to "close" my doors. I will not be booking any sessions for 2012. While I have LOVED photography (and it will still be a part of me) I feel that I need to spend more time with my family and also persuing other interests and goals. I will still have my blog and will update it occasionally with personal photographs of my girls or family so please visit every once in a while (and leave a little note or two). To my clients: thanks for being SO amazing...for giving me a glimspe of the real you. I have loved getting to know you over the years. I would only see some of you once a year but I loved catching up and seeing you again. I consider each of you friends and my life has been better because of you. I have loved every second of it (to be honest there are about 10 minutes I could have done without but everything else was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to be your photographer and for all your love and support.It has been my goal to give images that will help you "love the real you". To be able to give you something to remember the sweet, simple moments of life with their imperfections and all (the silly faces, the freckles, the laugther). I hope I have given you something to cherish. Thank you! As a matter of business, if any clients didn't order all their files from a session (any year) and would like to do so I am running a special of $50.00 (instead of $100.00) for all digital files for each year. Also, if anyone would like prints or enlargements made through me it will be at the 50% off list price. I will need orders in by February 11th. I can't post without images so here are some of my favorites from 2011...enjoy.

Meet my best friend from junior high and her family. We met in the eighth grade and have been best of friends ever since. We have been through a lot over the years and even though we don't live near each other and haven't for several years I know she is always there for me if I ever need anything. I love this girl and her family is awesome too. They came from Idaho for this session and after the session we had dinner all together (my sister Julie and her family as well) and just hung out...it was a great evening. Thanks for making the drive to Utah, I hope it was worth it! I hope everyone has a great week and as always thanks for coming to my blog! PS Thanks Julie for your help with the session.

New Addition!

I love this family and they have had me take their photos from the beginning of JBP. It has been so great to see how this family has grown and changed over the years. We did a mini-session this year (we had to reschedule because the newest addition decided to come on the day we scheduled) and even though it was a little cold (some might say a lot cold) and fast I love what we got. It way great to meet the littlest one and to see the other three children. I loved seeing the interaction and it was great. Some tourists who were down at Temple Square took a picture of the baby too. I wish you guys all the best and thank you. Thanks for looking and I have another blog post coming soon!

A Lot of Laughter!

We are moving on Saturday, not far from where we currently live (only about a mile) but I am going to miss our neighborhood and friends. This great family lives two houses away from us. Over the last six and half years we have come to love them. Brooke LOVES to go to their house and play (Kate does too). They have helped us out too many times to count. They are just great people and friends.

I love that we went to AF Canyon. It means something to them. Over the years they have spent hours there as a family just being together. I saw where they have made countless smores and where they skip rocks. The children are getting older and life is moving but I hope these pictures will be a reminder of those moments. Moments that have passed and moments to come.

This family knows how to have a good time. Everything is fun when they are involved. It was a great evening, thanks for letting me share it with you. As always, thanks for looking! PS My favorite picture is the first one (I love it).

The Canyon!

Two posts in one night...I am on a roll (or it could do with the fact I won't have internet for a few days next week :)). This evening was beautiful. We were in the mountains, the leaves all sorts of colors, the weather was perfect, and the sun golden. I love this family! I had the opportunity to take this family's photographs last year and loved it. I was excited when she asked me to take them again this year. They love each other and it shows. It was a great evening...thank you! Thanks also to Shelby (you're awesome). Last year when I did their session I had a favorite image this year it is the image below. I love how the sun is bursting through the trees and the family is just in the moment. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for looking!

At Home!

I have taken photos of these two boys for the last three years and I have LOVED every minute of it. For this session, I went to their home. They wandered around doing the things they do every day, I was able to watch them and just try and capture a little bit of who they are. Their backyard was the perfect place to explore. We found bugs, acorns, and they showed me a big tree stump. I loved spending the morning with these two boys. They are so full of energy and life and just a joy to be around. The mom is one of my great friends and I have seen her boys grow up over the last few year and I just love 'em. Brother and Sister!

I have had the opportunity to take this family's photographs a couple times over the last year. I have LOVED seeing these two grow. The boy is so full of life and loves trains. The little girl is curious about everything and so sweet (and they both have the best blue eyes). It was raining on and off during the session but that didn't stop us. I love what we got. Thank you for inviting me into your home again to capture them as they are right now (we also took one family photograph to remember the year by). Time goes too quickly and it truly is the little moments that make it worth it (the giggles, smiles, and laughter) and this family lives in the moment. Beautiful Fall Day!

A week ago, I had the opportunity to take this amazing family's photographs (you might remember them from the newborn session I did a few months ago here and here). We went up the canyon to the top of the mountain. We hiked a little, found some leaves and just enjoyed the beautiful day (it was perfect)! I love seeing this family interact and be together (they love to have fun together too). They have so much love for one another. This family is into hunting so the mountain backdrop was perfect and we saw a few deer along the way as well. Thank you for asking me to take your photographs again...you guys are awesome! I am Back!!!

I am back from maternity leave and jumping right into it. I haven't had time to post pictures of our new baby girl but she is such a joy and we are very glad she joined our family (I hope to get her blog post done soon). She was a month old yesterday (time is flying by) and we are just trying to enjoy her "newness". Brooke and Kate love her to pieces (Kate walks around saying hi to her and waving and Brooke loves holding her). I am so grateful for my three beautiful girls!

This family is awesome!! They live down the street from me and I have gotten to know them through the years and they are a lot of fun. Last week we went downtown for this session and the weather was perfect (a little hot near the end but for the end of September I will take it) and they brought their dog too (he did great). Thanks for a great evening and thanks to everyone else for looking. Over the next few weeks I have a number of sessions coming up so please be sure to check back (I hope the weather holds out for the next couple weeks).

I had the opportunity to take pictures of this beautiful baby girl last week (she was 9 days old). She is such a doll. She slept about 95% of the time and was just an angel. She came to such a wonderful family with three sisters that love her so much (I love, love, love the sister images). Her parents are amazing and I am so happy for this family!!! Thank you for letting me into your home to capture her tiny features (I love her hair, lips, toes...I love newborns). We also had a little time so I took some individual pictures of the older sisters-beautiful girls! I wish you guys all the happiness! Thanks for looking and have a great week!

In the Mountains!

This last weekend, I had the chance to photograph my sister (my twin sister) and her family in the mountains. One thing I love about living in Utah are the mountains. They are so beautiful and so close. We started by hiking around a little, playing in the water/rocks, and then ended the night with smores (delicious!). I love my sister and her family and I am so grateful we live near each other...she helps me in so many ways! Thanks and I hope you enjoy your preview! I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

At the Park and Home!

I was able to take this sweet girl's one year old photographs on Monday. It was so great seeing this family again and how much she had grown in the last few months since her last session. She is talking, walking (everywhere) and she knows what she wants (as do most one year olds). They had just gotten home from a vacation so she was a little tired but I love that we got different expressions. We started by looking at the flowers and then ended up at the swing set (she loves the swings). Thank you so much for asking me to take her photographs again and to everyone else thanks for looking!

We also did a little mini-session at their home. It was fun seeing this sweet girl in her own environment with her own toys in her own space. One of my favorites from the session is them reading together, I love how she is holding her mom's arm and the dad is looking at her. I also love the one where her hands are back behind her head and she has the biggest smile. This girl has the best expressions and I love her eyes (so big and blue). THANKS again for allowing me to capture a little more of her who she is.

A Snail, Some Rocks, and a lot of Sand!

I loved everything about this photo shoot! I have photographed these two boys here and here and I love seeing them each year, they change so much. During this shoot they jumped off rocks, looked at a snail, played in the sand (they were digging for treasure and pirates), and looked at all the trees and flowers. These two boys are so kind and polite and just love having fun-running from one thing to the next looking at everything. I love how much they love each other and how their personalities are so different. Thank you so very much for asking me to take their pictures again! About Time!

It is about time I posted a few pictures of my youngest little girl. She turned one in June and I haven't posted any other pictures of her other than her newborn pictures. She has started to jabber and she has taken a few steps. She loves to climb and she loves her older sister. She loves to play peek-a-boo and she crawls really fast if we chase her down the hallway. I am lucky to have two beautiful girls (almost three in less than 7 weeks). Each day is brighter and happier because of my girls. It isn't very many pictures but here she is as a newborn, 3 months, 6 months, and a year. Thanks for looking!

Three Years!

It has been almost three years since I have seen this amazing family (I just love them). The children have all changed and grown up so much (see their last session here). This is Rob's brother's family and they were driving through Utah on their way to their new home (they have been living out East for the last six years and now they are going to live in the NW). They stopped in Utah for a couple days and we all hung out together; eating, playing and laughing. While they were here we did a little mini-session. They braved the mosquitos, "flood" waters, and hot temperatures but I love what we got. I wish you all the best and hope it isn't three years until I see you again.

Idaho (Part Two)!

Here is another mini-session I did in Idaho for my sister-in-law for my brother for Father's Day. I love these beautiful girls. Each one is so unique and different and has so much to offer. The oldest loves to read books and to dance. The next girl is a great teacher and loves to have preschool (I wished I lived closer because I would have Brooke go there). The middle girl is a year older than Brooke and they love to play together. She has so much determination and knows what she wants (she is a leader). The second to youngest girl little voice is so sweet and cute. I could listen to her talk all day long...she is so sweet. Finally, the baby is so happy and content (a really great baby). I love this family and when were were visiting we were able to stay with them and hang out for a few nights. Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Time in Idaho (part one)!

Back in March, I did a little mini-session with this beautiful girl (she is my niece and I love her to pieces) when I went to Idaho to visit. She was two months old then. Then in May, I went back to Idaho for a week and I was able to do a mini-family session with her, her mom (my sister), and dad. We didn't have tons of time but we "made it work." I love how much they adore their little girl. It was wonderful to be able to spend a couple days together (I love you guys). Actually my entire family (parents, siblings, spouses, children) was in Idaho the end of May and I loved every second of being together. Families are the best! Happy weekend everyone (tonight I will post one more session from Idaho)!

Sisters!

This week I had the opportunity to photography these beautiful sisters and I loved every second of it. We were able to play with bubbles, a pink chair (the youngest girl carried it around...loved it), and hang out for a few moments. It is wonderful to be able to get a glismp into their little lives and see what makes them happy. These two girls are fairly close to the age of my little girls and they reminded me so much of each other (so full of life and laughter). It was a reminder of how fast time goes. Thank you for allowing me the chance to capture them as they are right now!

Party of Three!

I loved this session! I have known the mom since 2004. We worked together at Northampton House Reception Center for a few years (about five years on and off). We went through at a lot together and had some crazy fun times working there (the stories we could tell). We worked so many hours together that it was more like family than being co-workers. We have stayed in contact these last couple of years and I was delighted when she asked me to take her family's photographs.

It was a great night (I was worried it would be too stormy) and we had fun just hanging out at the farm. Her little girl is BEAUTIFUL...just like her momma (I love the curly hair) and we just walked around and had a great time. She brought a couple of outfit changes for her daughter (things her little girl LOVES to wear) and we let her just be herself. She also loves bugs (ladybugs) so we had a lot of fun with a bunch of ladybugs. I loved watching them interact and go "exploring" and looking for the animals (I think it was the first time she touched a cow). At one point we were near the roosters and one of them crowed and she said, "good job"! I laughed so hard. Thanks for asking me to take photographs of your amazing family; it was great seeing you again!

She is One!

This beautiful, sweet girl turned one in June. I was so glad that her parents asked me to come back and capture their family and her at this age. We started at the park and ended up back at their home. I loved this session! They were just being themselves in their own envirnoment. They played and laughed together. It was so great to see their interaction and the love they have for this beautiful girl.

This beautiful girl has grown up so much this last year. She is taking steps and can balance standing up. She is talking. She says her name and when her dad walked into the room before the session started she said, "dadda". She loves her parents. She loves being outside and finding rocks and sticks. She loves looking at the trees. I love how she played peek-a-boo with the chimes and the look on her face when she crawled away quickly. I love how she points at things. She is one smart, amazing little girl.

Thank you for allowing me to come into your home and capture a little of who you are as a family. It is such a privilage for me to see your family and the love you have for each other. You really do live every moment together. I wish you all the best!

Two Boys and Two Girls!

I want to just take a little moment to say thank you to all my clients! I have been looking through past sessions (I am thinking about updating my website) and a smile comes to my face at each photograph I look at. I know there are tons and tons of choices when it comes to choosing a photographer and I am so grateful and honored that you pick me. I leave every session with new friends...I love my job. Two boys and two girls for this famly now that this adorable baby boy came along. I am so glad I got to meet him and be able to capture him so new and little. Perfect Baby Boy!

This adorable, perfect little boy is the youngest of three brothers. He is so sweet, and such a fighter (he had a tough start but here he is almost two weeks old). I LOVE his hair, his cheeks, his muscle pose...perfect! He was awake for some of the session and then fell alseep at the end...perfect! He has such a great family and is so loved. This is my awesome sister and her amazing family (Brooke loves her cousins). They came to Utah to visit grandparents (who live downtown Salt Lake) a few weeks ago. We had the chance to go do a little mini-session one day while they were here. The weather wasn't too cold (which was nice) and we had a fun time. Two Months Old!

A few weeks ago I headed to Idaho to meet this sweet, beautiful baby girl! While I was there we did a little mini-session. I am so glad I got to meet her when she was still tiny and little. I love her little features and her beautiful smile (I LOVE the first two images). This is my younger sister's little girl, she is such a great mom and I am so happy for her. It was so nice to hang out for a few days and see family. Brooke loved playing with her cousins. I apologize for the delay in posting these (my computer had some major issues). Beautiful Blue-Eyed Girl!!!

I had fun on Saturday taking this beautiful girl's photographs. I loved meeting her and her parents. She is so full of life and LOVES "walking" around. She is only 8 months old and she already knows what she wants...I think it is perfect. I love being able to capture a little of who she is right now, in the moment (the thumb sucking (I love this...I sucked my thumb for years), the head tilt, the curled toes, and all the many faces). And just check out those eyes and eye lashes. I love the beautiful blue and her eye lashes curl so perfectly. Thank you for allowing me a chance to come into your home and capture a little of her right now...she is such a joy! The session didn't last too long because she got a little tired and she still wasn't quite sure of me but I do love what we got. I hope everyone has a great week! 9 Months Already!

I can't believe she is 9 months already. I have taken her newborn, 3 months, 6 months and now 9 months photographs and I have loved every minute of it. I love seeing how she has grown and changed over the last three months and all that she can do now. This time she can crawl, pull herself up, play with toys, and I loved hearing her little jabber. The other day I was able to do a session for the beautiful little girl. I did a family session for her and her family in the fall and it is crazy how much she has changed in the last few of months. Winter Wonderland!

Let me start off by saying Happy New Year! I have been MIA for the last few weeks...my apologizes. Life has been a crazy whirlwind the last few weeks so I am just starting to get some time. This wedding was amazing and I wish them all the best! I loved being able to be there to capture their day. It was a cold, cold, cold day however the sun came out for a few moments which was nice. Merry, Merry Christmas!!!

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to take bridals for this beautiful bride (her wedding is in two weeks...I am extremely excited). Some of you may or may not know that I used to work at a reception center for a few years, the best reception center anywhere...Northampton House (NHH)located in American Fork. It is beautiful inside and out and the staff is amazing and the food is excellent...I really cold go on and on. I love NHH and it was the perfect location for these bridals (I have never shot there so it was pretty neat...thanks John and Kelli). If you need an excellent venue for a family gathering, work party, wedding event...Northampton House is perfect!!! Here are just a few from the session.

I hope that everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Tonight we had a nice dinner (last year it was disgusting...sometimes I just can't cook) and told the story of Jesus' birth. It was a wonderful evening together. I can't wait for Santa to come tomorrow morning, Brooke is extremely excited. How grateful I am for everything I am blessed with...including amazing clients. On Saturday, I was able to do an engagement shoot for this awesome couple. I actually took her sister's pictures a couple years ago and when they asked me to do these photos I was excited---they have an amazing family! They had this great location in mind and I love that they were natural in front of the camera and SO in love! The weather was only a "little" cold and it didn't snow (I was worried) and they were up for anything. Their wedding is coming up fast (in January) so stay tuned in the next few weeks for some bridals and the actual wedding (I don't normally do weddings but since I did her sisters I thought I would make an exception and I am glad I did...they are such a great couple and I am really looking forward to their big day). While in California (for Thanksgiving) I took just a couple headshots of my beautiful SIL. We loved seeing her (thanks for making the trip) and we had a lot of fun hanging out and playing with a beach ball in the family room (hours of entertainment I tell you what...who would have guessed) A prize to anyone (other than people who were there) who can guess where this picture is taken!

6 Months Already!

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!!! We had a great time in California, now I am trying to get back into the swing of things and get all my orders done so I can enjoy the holidays. California was really fun but I am having to adjust to all this snow...it is pretty (and I like snow for the most part) but it is not my favorite thing to drive in. Tonight I was running an errand and got stuck leaving our driveway...HILARIOUS! Rob had to shovel me out...good times. Anyways on to the purpose of the post...

I love my job and my clients! I did a mini-session for this sweet girl...I can't believe she is 6 months old already. She is beautiful (I love her eyes) and she is so happy and easy going. It has been so neat seeing her grow up. Her mom is such a wonderful mother and truly lives ever single second with her daugther...she doesn't take anything for granted. Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to come into your home and capture a little bit of you.

I am taking a Thanksgiving break to enjoy time with family (all emails, calls will be returned November 29th). I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. I am grateful for so many things in my life a few of which are: great clients, and amazing year, my friends, and last but not least my family. I wouldn't be who I am without all the amazing people in my life. Thank you to everyone and have a great week and enjoy the holiday. I had a lot of fun getting to know this family. I loved seeing the boy run and play and the little girl had the happiest personality (and they both had the best blue eyes). The loved the interaction they had as a family and it was such a privilege to be in their home capturing a little bit of them right now. Thank you so very much and I hope you enjoy your preview.

While in Idaho I had a chance to do a little mini-session with my newest niece (two and half months old). Her mom mainly wanted pictures in her blessing dress but we did a few others for fun. It was great meeting her and she is so sweet and smiley. When I first saw her newborn pictures I thought she looked exactly like my brother but I see a lot of her mom in her now too...what a great mix of both parents My brother and his wife have five beautiful girls...I love their family. I hope you guys like them.

Weekend!

I had a great weekend. I was able to go to Idaho for about 32 hours (it was quick but oh so fun). My sisters were all going to be there so we hung out and had fun together (as well as my brothers minus one who is in Oakland, CA). It was great being together--I LOVE my family! We had a family dinner on Friday night at my parent's house and then on Saturday threw a baby shower for one of my sisters (her baby is due in about two months). It was great seeing everyone and maybe one day we will live there (or maybe not...who knows).

I was going to post this preview on Thursday before I left but my internet was down (it is definitely a love-hate relationship between us). So here is the preview. It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day and this family is awesome. I have taken their pictures for a few years (they were actually one of my first weddings ever). It as been wonderful to see their family grow up right before my eyes. Thanks for letting me take your family pictures again this year. I hope everyone has an amazing week!!

Rain or Shine!

We had to reschedule this session a couple weeks ago due to the rain. However the next week it worked out nicely. We beat the rain (it dumped again that night) and the temperatures were nice and fallish. I have taken this families pictures a couple times before and this time did not disappoint either.

I love this family. They know how to laugh and have a good time and the parents clearly love each other and their children. I am extremely lucky to have them as neighbors and more importantly as friends (they babysit my girls and I appreciate everything they do for me and my family). Every time we are outside and Brooke sees one of them she always asks what they are doing and if she can go say hi....I love it!

The first part of last week we had six inches of snow...I was worried winter was here to stay. I had a great time taking this family's photos. They are our great friends (they have been on the blog a number of times...they might look familiar). I was so happy when they asked me to take their family photos again this year. The weather was absolutely perfect and it was fun just walking around, looking at everything. The youngest little girl really didn't want anything to do with me or getting her pictures taken...it is the age but I think we got some keepers all the same. This family knows how to have fun together. The whole session was playing and exploring the beautiful mountains (this spot was perfect). I had the best time photographing this family. Thanks for allowing me the chance to take your family pictures and capture a little of who you are. A family is all about those little looks, the giggles, the silly faces, the hugs, the bunny ears and simply being together and taking in every moment...to me this family does just that. They are our neighbors and we (my family and I) just LOVE them! This family is beautiful inside and out and I am blessed to know them. We went downtown and explored a little. I love so many of these pictures I couldn't narrow it down (hence the huge post). My sister came along to help (THANKS JULIE) and we went to dinner afterward. I love this family! This is my sister (my twin sister...do you think we look alike?) and her family. They have been on this blog a few times before so they just might look familiar. Earlier this week we went and did their family pictures. I have shot at this location twice before but you can always find new places and new things, I like that about a location. I am so grateful to be able to live so close to my sister and her family (they have helped me too many times to count). It is always fun when we get together (well, we think everything is funny)! Mountain Air!

It is almost fall time! This last weekend I was able to take pictures of this two brothers (you might remember them from last year). We went up into the mountains and the weather was beautiful. On my drive up I noticed that the leaves are changing and it won't be long until fall is here to stay. These two boys were so great and it was fun watching them explore and walk around (we saw an excavator,a really old crane, a few rocks, and a bunch of other things). My beautiful little girl is 4! We celebrated a couple weeks ago (she got a purple bike). I am so blessed to have Brooke as my daughter. She brings laughter and joy to our home (she says the most adorable things). She is so friendly and kind to all she sees (and loves helloing to people). 3 Months Old!

I can't believe this baby girl is 3 months old already! I loved this session. Being able to just hang out and watch her interact with her mom in her own room in her own house. I can't get over her beautiful blues eyes and her sweet, sweet smile. At three months old it is all about the faces and details. That little smirk, the leggy wrinkles, and the baby cheeks or the eating of the hands and the sky high stretching. Because before you know it she will be riding a "big-girl bike" (just ask Brooke she got one for her 4th birthday this last Sunday). I love, love, love it. Thanks for inviting me into your home and letting me witness this little miracle growing up...she is beautiful!

Two posts in one day (I have been meaning to post these for a couple weeks now but just got around to it). My brother and his family came into town the middle of August for my Dad's graduation from BYU (congrats Dad we are very proud of you). It was fun having family around to visit with and to hang out with.
While they were here we went downtown and did a session. I love how they enjoy the moments and were up for anything. I love the funny faces, the laughter, and the smiles. Maybe one day we will live closer to each other but for now I will take the visits. Thanks for stopping by.

You might remember these twin boys from last year. I had so much fun again this year. I am privileged to have such amazing clients. Thank you! Thank! Thank you! These two boys had me laughing the whole time. It is so neat to see how much they have grown up in the last year. These boys were such great sports. On our trip to Oregon I was able to do a mini-session for Rob's sister. She mainly wanted face shots and a couple together but at the end they dog-piled on their sister (some of my favorite shots). It was quick, hot, and the mosquitoes were out but I am so glad we took a few because they are growing up so fast. Rob's sister is a great mom and her kids are awesome (I love their blue eyes)...they have a wonderful family and it was nice to just hang out and spend time together (playground obstacle courses and all). Two posts in one night...I am on a roll! I had such a great time taking photos of this beautiful family (just check out eyes on the children). I did a mini shoot here a few months ago with the youngest girl and now it was time for a family session. I loved that this family was so relaxed and they just let the kids be kids (it just makes it more fun for everyone). They played at the park, climbed trees, threw rocks. While we were in Oregon for a trip in July, I was able to do a couple mini-sessions for Rob's family. Here is Rob's brother and his family. It was great seeing them. We went to the beach one day and I got a few shots and then in the morning one day we took a few more. We had fun talking, laughing, and just enjoying each others company. It doesn't get better than family.

Speaking of family, today it has been seven years since I married my best friend!!! A lot has happened over the last seven years. We have had the great, the bad, and some pretty ugly things happen but I wouldn't trade a thing. I am so grateful for my family...my amazing husband and my two girls. Life is beautiful!

So this adorable little girl just turned two. For her shoot we went to the farm and she just had a fun time looking at all the animals. In May, I had the chance to attend Shannon Sewell mentoring/workshop in Bountiful (I think she is coming back to Utah for another one in August). It was awesome! I am completely behind on blogging but hope to get caught up here in the next couple of days (I only have about a week and a half before this baby is due). To start the catch up is this amazing family. I did maternity photos and before I could get the prints back she called and said she had already delivered. So I was able to take newborn photos of this beautiful baby girl. She was so tiny (only 5 days old) and absolutely perfect (it got me excited to see my little girl). San Diego Trip!

Our trip was amazing. I can't believe we went over a month ago, time is sure flying. We went to San Diego to celebrate Rob's grandma's birthday back in February (and Rob's Dad's birthday). I am so glad we went. We had a lot of fun. It was great meeting/seeing family! We were also able to go to Sea World (Brooke loved this) and we went to the beach (the water was cold but Brooke didn't care). The weather was perfect and I hope we can make it back to San Diego sometime it the future. It was a great trip...it is fun to travel with Brooke because she makes everything come alive.

We went out of town and had company visiting for the last couple of weeks so we have just been enjoying ourselves. I am excited the weather is starting to look and feel like springtime.

Back in 2008, I attended Skye Hardwick's workshop in Portland, OR. There I met four amazing women and photographers who live in Utah (or visit here at Christmas and during the summer)they are Jami, Jess, Stephanie, and Bev. So every New Year's we try and get together to chat and take a few pictures. We were lucky enough to be able to photograph this beautiful mom and her adorable little boy. It has been too long in between posts...and I apologize (I was really enjoying the holidays)! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. All the girls were troopers because it was FREEZING. I had so much fun with these families (they really know how to have a good time). Thankgiving Time!

Well, I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for my family, health, and life! I am grateful to all my clients, friends, and family who have supported me this last year...thank you (you're the best)!

I didn't post that I was going out of town because it was a surprise to Rob's mom but we went to California for Thanksgiving and had a blast. I had never driven to northern California before and it was all desert until you got into Tahoe then it was BEAUTIFUL! The drive didn't take as long as I had expected and we did surprise Rob's mom...it was perfect. We had a great time hanging out with family and eating and then eating some more. While we were there Rob's two sisters and family came down from Oregon (we haven't seen them for over a year)...it was wonderful. I was able to do a mini-shoot with one of Rob's sisters. It was so much fun regardless of the wind (it was really windy) and she was up for anything. Michelle you are gorgeous inside and out (hopefully it won't be another year before we see you again)! Families are Forever!

I am grateful for families and the love, strength, and hope they provide. A couple weeks ago, my sister-in-law's mother passed away after courageously battling breast cancer for 18 months. Sheryl was one of those women that if you knew her you were lucky. She was so real and could make anyone laugh and smile. Julie and I had the chance to go to Idaho for her graveside service and burial. Sheryl's legacy will continue through her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

My sister decided she did want a few photos this year (she is expecting and due in Jan.) so we just did a mini session. It was a little cold and really crowed (they were having a cycling meet at the location...so you had to watch out for bikes) but it was fast so it worked out great. Julie is so amazing and helps me everyday and her cute little family is perfect...I just love her tummy too! Thanks for everything and thanks for looking!

Amazing Family!

This amazing family lives a couple houses down from us. Brooke just loves them and every time they are outside she wants to go play with them. While I was processing these photos Brooke comes in and says, "hey I know them...they are my friends." That basically sums it up...they are our friends! They have six incredible children and it was so fun taking their photos...reminded me of my family (how they interacted and got along). I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

I love, love, love this image of the parents. It isn't perfect but I love that about it too. It is a little out of focus (it just happened and so I just pressed without even looking), they have rain on their backs (yes, it started raining fairly hard while we were shooting...thankfully we were almost done and they had great attitudes)but I love how he is looking at her and how happy the mom is. After six kids and a few years of marriage and life (with the good and the bad)...they are still in love (it makes me happy)! Life isn't perfect and that makes me happy too!

***Warning...huge post ahead!!!*** This beautiful bride is one of my best friends. Last Thursday she got married and it was the perfect day...I am so happy for them and their family! We did a little photo session before the actual wedding day...that day was perfect too (the light was gorgeous) and we took some photos the day of so I have double the photos (hence the huge post)! I wish them all the happiness and know they will live "happily ever after" (Brooke is into princesses right now so this is how we end all of our stories). I love this series of photos with their cake. The only knife the banquet place had was a HUGE butcher knife so it was pretty awesome. The cake was made by the groom's sister and it was DELICIOUSLY AMAZING (just thinking about that cake makes me hungry) and so BEAUTIFUL!!!

This family was up for anything. They had a great idea for a location but it just didn't work out so we went downtown and brought the football along, just for kicks (they love football). Anyways, we got rained on a little but for the most part it was a perfect evening for photos. Thanks for the great evening and thanks Heather for you help. PS I do realize that there is a fedex truck in the second image (poor timing Mr. Truck Driver) however I love it too much to trash it. One more thing...I am completely booked for 2009 (I am taking part of November and all of December off to spend time with family)! Thanks for making it an awesome year!!!

Winco is Open!

So today was the Grand Opening of WINCO (on 7th West and 7200 South in Midvale) and let's just say that I am excited. I shopped at WINCO growing up and I love the bulk foods and candy section. I went with Karena (and she had the camera so I don't have the actual proof that I was there yet but trust me I was there) so I decided to post just a couple more of her family because a post should have a picture with it and because she loves WINCO almost as much as I do--okay we are probably tied in our love of this great store (call me nerdy but don't judge me until you have been there...I love bulk foods and candy and Tillamook ice cream and it just takes me back)!! I have known this family for a few years. She used to work with my husband and we would all play on the same softball team together (memories)in the spring. I was so excited when she asked me to take some family photos for them because just look at how beautiful and sweet their family is. This family is amazing. The mom is from Boise so when we first met there was an instant connection (there is just something about Boise/Nampa, Idaho that leaves you loving it forever) and we have been friends ever since. This shoot was a lot of fun. These twin boys were awesome and adorable (I love their hair). It was pretty windy but they just loved being outside, running around. I love that even though they are twins they are still so different and they are "individuals" (I said this all the time growing up) and it shows in their photos. I have taken photos of this girl and her family a few times before but this shoot was for her because she is turning two. We had fun finding witches (okay the real ones were a little scary) and just hanging out in the warmish weather (I can't believe how cold it is already...I am not ready). Anyways it was a shoot for just for her but we were able to get a few with her sister...aren't they both beautiful!!! Thanks for the great time (it is always so fun) and thanks for looking! I am headed out of town camping for the next couple of days so I won't be around a computer so I decided to post both weddings tonight so the brides can have a sneak peek (so be sure to scroll down because I posted a TON of images). I had two weddings in one week and they were both amazing.

You might recongize this bride from her bridals a couple of months ago. This wedding was great and it was so fun to get to know the bride and groom and to see them interact. I wish them all the happiness in their new life together!!! THANKS!

They had their reception at Aspen Landing in Salt Lake and they have a pond near the patio. This cute little boy (and all the kids for that matter) loved the water and the pond. Too fun!

A week ago my sister got married in Idaho. It was so nice to be home and visit and I am so excited for them and their life together. It was a group effort to get it all put together (I love it when a plan comes together) and in the end it all turned out beautifully! Congratulations Jenn and Rockne! PS I hope Mexico was fun!
